Quantitative Techniques in Geography

Course Description
In conducting geographic research, the students will require understanding
of descriptive and inferential statistics. At the end of the course, students should be able to:
1. appreciate the value of statistics in geographic research; and
2. simplify the complex world problems.
Course Outline
Introduction to descriptive and inferential statistics, parametric and non-parametric tests; Survey
design and sampling techniques, Elementary statistical analysis of spatial patterns.
