Local Field Studies

Course Description
Field work is an essential geographic activity. At the end of the course, students should be able
to:
1. familiarize the students with knowledge of their local environment;
2. introduce students to the use of local knowledge and tools to tackle local problems; and
3. promote local solutions to environmental problems.
Course Outline
Local field studies on vegetation, soils, settlements, earth’s resources, landforms, market surveys,
population, rural or urban surveys and weather.
