Students should be able to: 1. recognise the need and significance of technical support in hospital environments; 2. learn the basic skills for troubleshooting hospital equipment; 3. appreciate the challenges of technology management and its importance to good healthcare delivery; 4. design and implement the complete process of technology management; 5. conduct an economic analysis of medical technologies during acquisition processes (cost- benefit analysis); 6. facilitate a better understanding between biomedical engineers and medical doctors; and 7. acknowledge the role of clinical engineers in the healthcare environment.
