Course Description
Goal: To equip the student-teacher with the professional knowledge and skills of
management of students’ leaning through creative thinking and practical
approach.
Course Objectives:
At the end of the course, the student teacher should be able to
- Describe the role of the teacher as the planner, interpreter and executor
of teaching leaning process.
- Know the basic principles of teaching
- Understand lesson preparation, lesson notes and lesson patterns
- Understand the general principles and practice of planning the order of
the instructions of programmes.
- Understand the principles and application of teaching of various
methods
- Understand the methods of evaluation of teaching of various methods
and techniques.
- Participate in micro-teaching activities.

UNIT 1. Principles and Application of Teaching Methods and Techniques
Concept of teaching method
Description of the nature and use of the following methods of teaching
Lecture method
Discussion, conference, seminar, workshop and tutorial method
Practical demonstration method
Experimentation
