Course Description
At the end of this course students will be able to:
1. explain the meaning and scope of Geomorphology;
2. explain the meaning and scope of soil geography;
3. mention different types of rocks;
4. discuss the distinguishing characteristics between types of rocks;
5. explain the factors involved in soil formation; and
6. state the differences between types of soils.
Course Outline
The meaning and scope of Geomorphology. Rock types, their origins and characteristics. Nature
and origin of Second Order Relief Forms of the continents. Structural landforms. The meaning
and scope of soil geography. Factors of soil formation. Zonal soils; azonal soils and intrazonal
soils.
