Course Description
At the end of this course, students should be able to:
1. explain classification and chemistry of carbohydrate;
2. discuss chemistry and biochemistry of the polysaccharide including the amino sugars;
mucopolysaccharides, blood group substances;
3. illustrate structure of chemistry and function of normal living cell;
4. define metabolism of proteins;
5. describe carbohydrates, nucleic acids and lipids;
6. demonstrate basic biochemical importance; and
7. apply biochemical knowledge in the clinics.
Course Outline
Classification and chemistry of carbohydrate. Chemistry and biochemistry of the
polysaccharide including the amino sugars, mucopolysaccharides, blood group substances.
