Course Description
At the end of this course, the students should be able to: 1. explain the meaning of anisotropy and how anisotropic nature of wood affects properties such as transmission of heat, sounds, electricity etc. in different directions of wood, i.e., in the longitudinal, radial and tangential.
Course Outline
Wood anisotropy, elasticity and rheology. Wood fracture; wood mass; heat and charge transport; electrical and acoustic properties, thermodynamics, wood-fluid interactions.
