Engineer in Society

At the end of this course, the students should be able to: differentiate between science, engineering and technology, and relate them to innovation; distinguish between the different cadres of engineering – engineers, technologists, technicians and craftsmen and their respective roles and competencies; identify and distinguish between the relevant professional bodies in engineering; categorise the goals of global development or sustainable development goals (SDGs); and identify and evaluate safety and risk in engineering practice.
