Course Description
At the end of the course, students should be able to: 1. understand pattern-drafting in relation to the human frame; 2. master the digital interface in pattern drafting; 3. their works in three dimensions; and 4. develop basic rendering concepts concerning inventive modelling techniques.
Course Outline
The course focuses on dressmaking and fashion production related to variance, development, grading, and industrial fabrication, i.e., clothing construction – pattern drafting, development, alteration, and design for the industry. Practical studio works are about such needs as official, casual, factory, and ceremonial outfits. The course also incorporates computer application to pattern drafting and modelling to develop three-dimensional fashion ideas using software packages to develop sketches from freehand sketches.
