Course Description
At the end of the course, students should be able to: 1. understand the philosophical foundations of art education; 2. locate the value of art teaching in a culture; 3. understand the contribution of philosophers of art education; and 4. understand the guiding principles of art education.
Course Outline
The course focuses on the postmodern conditions of art education and its relationships to the influences of visual culture in the 21st century. Issues concerning the value and importance of visual imagery, influence of computer networking, mass communication and other image sources in the era of globalization.
