Physiotherapy in Infectious Diseases Control and Prevention

At the end of this course, the students should be able to: 1. discuss the epidemiological concepts in infectious disease control and prevention; 2. describe infection prevention and control strategies to protect therapists, promote quality and safe patient care; 3. discuss infection control standard precautions and requirements for an infection control plan in a healthcare setting; 4. relate the concepts of a clean, disinfected, and sterilize environment in a healthcare setting; 5. explain the procedures of hand washing and disinfections in Physiotherapy clinical practice; and 6. demonstrate the skills required to participate in the development and implementation of operational and strategic initiatives in infection prevention and control in healthcare settings.
