Course Description
At the end of this course, students should be able to: 1. identify the various functional areas of business and describe their contribution to the organization; 2. identify the business stakeholders and describe their relationship with the organization; 3. recognize some of the most common ethical challenges faced by the organization; 4. discuss the many aspects of business functions such as management, finance, accounting and marketing.
Course Outline
Basic principles of management. The functional areas of business. Marketing, production, finance and accounting functions. Sources of business finance. Government and business. The Social responsibility of business. International business. Business risks and uncertainties. Problems of Nigerian business enterprises. Ethics in business.
