At the end of this course, students should be able to: 1. identify bacterial genetic materials; 2. define genetic code; 3. explain transcription and translation; 4. discuss mechanism of gene transfer via transformation, transduction and conjugation; 5. describe genetic basis of variation and define bacteriophages; and 6. explain genetic basis of drug resistance.
