Amino Acids Chemistry

Course Description
At the end of this course, students should be able to:
1. explain chemistry and structure of the amino acids;
2. classify peptides, essential and non-essential amino acids;
3. define metabolism of proteins;
4. describe carbohydrates, nucleic acids and lipids;
5. illustrate how to apply correctly and interpret the results if different diagnostic test (for
example, creatinine, urea, PS) in human diseases; and
6. apply biochemical knowledge in the clinics.
