Course Description
At the end of the course, students shall demonstrate the following competencies: 1. outline the various strategies for development control; 2. identify the laws and regulations guiding development control in the cities and rural areas; 3. State the procedure for planning application, appeals, enforcement and arbitration; 4. Illustrate the procedure for the preparation and publication of awards; and 5. State the method for the enforcement impeachment of award.
Course Outline
The various strategies of development control; the mechanics of control; Laws, Codes, Regulations and standards; development plans/schemes and their implementation. Planning applications; consents; appeals; enforcement procedures of arbitration submission. Appointment of arbitration, rules of evidence. Preparation and publication for awards; Methods of enforcing and impeaching an award. Reference by order of the court statutory arbitration.
