Course Description
At the end of this course, the students should be able to: 1. explain the basic concepts of macromolecules and their building blocks, and their relevance to chemical engineering; 2. interpret the fundamental of microbial growth, the principles of enzyme and cell kinetics; 3. calculate cell growth, and enzyme kinetics; and 4. perform mass balance on cell and enzyme systems

Introduction to microbiology and biochemistry. Classification and growth characteristics of micro-organisms. Enzymes Engineering: including enzyme kinetics, aerobic and anaerobic respirations, metabolic pathways, cell growth kinetics and models
