Mechatronics and Robotics

Engineering and Technology
B.Eng. Systems Engineering
2
Course Description
At the end of the course, students should be able to: 1. visualise how robots are embodiments of the Artificial intelligence they have learned. 2. comprehend how this combination of programming with electronics and 3. mechanical systems enable them to see how in real life these all work together to provide solutions to problems encountered in daily life as distinct from the analytical approach of seeing these differently.
Course Outline
Introduction to mechatronics, robotics and measurement systems. Design and development of simple mechatronics/robotics systems. Analysis and design of sensor and actuator systems. Solenoids, relays, motors, pneumatics, and smart actuators. Class project.
