At the end of the course, the student should be able to: 1. identify oral manifestations of systemic nutritional deficiencies; 2. describe manifestations of nutritional deficiencies; 3. describe process of disease formation; and 4. diagnose periodontal diseases.

Identify the clinical presentation of periodontal diseases. Classify periodontal diseases into gingivitis and periodontitis. State the relationship between gingivitis and periodontitis.
