Course Description
At the end of this course, students should be able to: 1. demonstrate sound theoretical knowledge of the subject; 2. exhibit sound clinical skills in the evaluation of the respiratory patient; 3. investigate patients with utmost prioritisation; 4. demonstrate the knowledge and skills to manage and prevent the disease; and 5. identify risk factors, individual and community level for respiratory system.
Course Outline
Approach to evaluation of respiratory symptoms. Pneumonias (Pneumococcal, Staphylococcal, H. influenzea), tuberculosis. Airway disease (asthma, alveolitis). Some common complications of chest diseases such as pleural effusion emphysema, pulmonary fibrosis, pleurisy.
