Course Description
At the end of this course, the students should be albe to: 1. explain the importance of process control in chemical engineering industry and classify chemical process variables; 2. solve first order and second order ODE’s analytically and using Laplace transform; 3. determine the transfer function of chemical processes; and 4. determine the stability of chemical processes from their transfer function.
Course Outline
Process dynamics. Transfer functions. Frequency response analysis. Discrete events. Control system design. Cascade control. Feed forward and feedback control. Introduction to multi- variable control. The control valves.
