Course Description
At the end of this course, students should be able to: 1. demonstrate diffusion and osmosis and osmotic fragility of RBCs; 2. determine the number of red blood corpuscle and white blood cells per cubic millimetre of blood; 3. illustrate the differential leucocytes count; 4. explain hemoglobin concentration; 5. discuss packed cell volume and other haematological indices; and 6. determine the bleeding, clotting time of blood sample and blood group.
Course Outline
Osmotic fragility of RBCs. Differential leucocytes Count. Prothrombin time. Cross-matching of blood. Haematological indices (MCHC, MCV).
