Course Description
At the end of the course, students should be able to: 1. design a research proposal; 2. review and critique research papers in journals; 3. develop a research question, and identify appropriate designs to address research aims and objectives; 4. apply the knowledge of data collection and analysis; 5. draw up questionnaires and scientifically apply such questionnaires; 6. explain different statistical methods and their applicability to different research proposals; 7. list ethical rules that governs conduct of research; and 8. explain the process of conducting and publishing a research paper in a peer-review, high impact factor journal.

Research topic. Sampling techniques. Design of questionnaires Data gathering. Hypothesis formulation. Probability distribution. Normal Poisson and Binomial distribution Mean. Standard error. Standard deviation. Curve fitting. Chi-square test. Student T test. F-distribution. Regression. Correlation. Quantitative and Qualitative research models. Advanced statistical analysis.
