Course Description
At the end of this course, the students should be able to: 1. discuss the compressive flow of gases in pipes as gases are transported through pipelines; 2. describe the compression in the design of compressors; 3. evaluate well performance by being able to estimate gas reserves by conventional and unconventional means; 4. handle the sour gas problem by suggesting various gas treating methods; and 5. design gas storage facility.
Course Outline
Production and transportation of gas: gas flow in pipes and compression. Well performance. Estimation of gas reserves (conventional and unconventional). Field handling of natural Gas. Sour gas problems. Gas condensate fields and storage of gas. Production from both conventional and unconventional sources. 500 Level
