Course Description
At the end of the course, students should be able to:
1. identify different types of glass raw materials; and
2. explain methods of analysing glass raw materials and different processing routes of glass.
Course Outline
Classification of glass raw materials into glass formers, fluxes, network modifiers, colourants and
decolourants and refining agents. Methods of analyzing glass raw materials. Processing methods
of glass including solid state and liquid state techniques.
