Course Description
At the end of this course, the students should be able to: 1. Design and conducts experiment; 2. Analyse and interpret data; 3. design system, component or process to meet needs; 4. function on multi-disciplinary systems design teams; 5. identify, formulate and solve aerospace engineering problems; 6. demonstrate understanding of the priciples of aircraft performance, stability, control, propulsion and rocket/spacecraft trajectories and orbits; and 7. employ techniques, skills and tools in aerospace engineering practice.
Course Outline
Overview of aerospace engineering from a design and systems perspective. Introductory aerodynamics, lift, drag and the standard atmosphere. Aircraft performance, stability and control. Propulsion. Structures. Rocket and spacecraft trajectories and orbits.
