Reproductive Health and Family Planning

At the end of this course, students should be able to: 1. define reproductive health; 2. identify and describe each component of reproductive health; 3. list types of hormonal contraception; 4. describe the various hormonal contraceptive and their indications and contraindication; 5. enumerate WHO medical eligibility criteria (MEC) for hormonal contraceptive; 6. explain which hormonal contraceptive is suitable for a particular patient; 7. prescribe appropriate hormonal contraceptives for patient; 8. illustrate counselling on hormonal contraceptives; and 9. list the various non hormonal contraceptive and their indications and contraindication.
